Another One to Cross Off the 'Honey Do' List

So you may remember that on New Years Day, Clint and I (along with my mom and dad) started the daunting process of remodeling our tiny little master bath. Well it is finally finished! Hooray! Only 7 months later! I thought everyone would like to see the before-and-after shots:

BEFORE...

AFTER!

BEFORE...

AFTER!

Sorry...I don't have a before shot for this...but this is a nice view of the floor tile, trim, and cool toilet paper stand and double towel bar!

Also, since I named part of this bathroom project the "Niche from Hell" I figured it would be nice to show the evolution of the once old, ugly medicine cabinet to a pretty nice lookin' decorative niche! Most of the credit for this part of the bathroom goes to my dad who took the mudding of the niche to a whole new level! This sounds lame but working with mud/compound like this is really an art!

It looks like such a harmless little project here...how naive I was...

Then came the task of creating the arch...

Next, we had to secure the arch and build the front facade...a lot harder than I thought it would be...

Then we had to mud the niche. I did a little bit of this but I got too impatient. It's a lot of mudding and sanding, mudding and sanding! I finally needed my dad to come over to finish it!

And here is the final result!

We must thank everyone who helped us complete this project:

My dad David, my mom Lisa, Clint's dad Paul, Cam, Loren, Hector (who tiled our tub), and all the nice people at Lowe's! We couldn't have done it without you!

Now...on to the next bathroom?...

Our Babies' First Swim!

Clint and I went to Daybreak on Sunday and decided to test the doggies out in the water for the first time. It was actually pretty cute to see them "doggie paddle" by instinct.

Here goes Tess...

Here goes Molly...

I wish I had caught it on video but Clint "gently" tossed Tess in the water and, I'm not kidding, she froze underwater for about 5 seconds! She looked dead! So Clint jumped in after her thinking he had killed her and just as he jumped in to save her, she paddled to the surface. When we realized she was ok we had a good laugh.

Another Year Under my Belt!

So I turned 28 yesterday. One more year...flew by way too fast! When did it happen that I started dreading my birthday rather than looking forward to it??? Clint was as sweet as can be though!

As soon as the clock hit 12:00 AM, he gave me a birthday card with tickets to a Hale Theater play. In the morning he took me to breakfast. Then some fabulous long stem roses arrived. Then we went to dinner with my family and had cake and ice cream at their house.

Clint let me buy some new shoes and a purse on Tuesday and he gave me the linens below on Sunday. (He always gives me my presents early because he gets too excited to wait!)

I love these linens! The sheets are so soft!

Crazy Weather this Year!

We have had some pretty stormy days these past few weeks. I snapped this picture on my phone a couple days ago! Very eery! Don't worry! Clint was driving! Not me!
